History — A Tradition of Quality and Service
Nielsen Sessions' commitment to quality hardware manufacturing and customer service is deeply rooted in our history. Nielsen Hardware was founded as a small tool and die works in Hartford, CT in 1912. Known for speed, efficiency, and quality, Nielsen Hardware manufactured components for customers such as Pratt & Whitney and The Royal Typewriter Company.
By the '50's, Nielsen Hardware had become a major supplier of standardized hardware to the case and container industries. In the early '90's, Nielsen Hardware added the ability to develop custom hardware products quickly and inexpensively.
J.H. Sessions, a manufacturer of case and container hardware products and accessories since 1854, merged with Nielsen Hardware in 1993 to become Nielsen Sessions. In 1999, Nielsen Sessions joined Actuant (www.actuant.com) a NYSE diversified industrial manufacturer. Nielsen Sessions is part of Actuant's Engineered Products business segment.
Today, Nielsen Sessions provides hardware products for countless applications to customers in a large number of industries around the world.
